Curriculum

Calvary Center School has implemented The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, Fifth Edition in all classes. This study based curriculum guides teachers through 6 week long developmentally appropriate investigations with children. Objectives for development and learning include the following domains: social emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies and the arts.

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, Fifth Edition is a Maryland Department of Education approved curriculum.

Threes Classes Supplemental Curriculum Materials Teachers in our threes classes use parts of The Letter People Curriculum, Abrams.   This program reinforces letter identification and sound/symbol association using 26 Letter People Hand Puppets.  

Fours Classes Supplemental Curriculum Materials The Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum uses multisensory tools with a hands on learning approach to teach children how to identify and form alphabet letters. Included in the program are wooden letter pieces, magnetic boards, letter trays for clay, chalk boards and many other materials.
